"Ghost, the fuck is all that?" I demand, sparing a glance for the mess she made of the place.

"Ice," I reply. "Only affects those l choose."

[Current HP: 31/31, after ongoing damage.

Minor: Bless Weapon. Until the end of the encounter, I gain +1 power bonus to attack rolls with my whip, it deals an extra 1d6 radiant damage on a hit, and scores a critical hit on a roll of 18-20 against enemies vulnerable to radiant damage.
Move: shift to L8. Stealth check to hide: 15 + 16 = 31.
Standard: charge attack against A, ending in G7. Whip is a reach weapon, so I can attack from there, and I can use Ardent Strike in place of an MBA on a charge.

Attack: 8 + 9 - 2 [aura] + 2 [CA] + 1 [charge] + 1 [bless] = 19 vs Reflex.
Damage: 1 + 3 [cha] + 1 [enh]  = 5 psychic + 5 [bless] radiant damage, and A is subject to my divine sanction (marked, takes 6 radiant damage if he makes an attack which doesn't include me) until the end of my next turn. No effect on a miss.

Action Point: Frost of Letherna. Close Burst 2, so only A is affected. It's an implement attack, hence the different bonuses and lack of Bless.

Attack: 20 + 8 - 2 [aura] = 26 vs Fortitude.
Damage:  10 + 3 [cha] + 1 [enh] = 14 cold damage, plus 8 [crit] radiant damage. The area of the burst is now a zone that lasts until the end of my next turn; any enemy who starts their turn in the zone or enters it is slowed until the end of their next turn.

Save vs ongoing damage: 1]

[You can actually escape both grabs with a single Move action, with your check made against whichever DC is higher, plus 2 for the second grab.]

"Subdue the dwarf," the granite-faced man, clearly the leader, orders the two soldierly types, as he strides outside.  He pauses to size up Mari, then raises a hand, palm in her direction.  "Unclean spirit, I compel you," he intones forcefully.  Mari experiences a disorienting tunnel vision, with this man becoming her point of focus.  [If Mari attacks anyone other than A, she'll have -2 to her attack roll and take 6 radiant damage.  Also, Mari is marked.]

"Unhand the dwarf," I reply sternly, uncoiling the whip at my belt. "And explain yourself. Now."

Minor: Psionic Vigor; Mari gains 8 temporary HP.
Move->Minor: activate Defender Aura.
Standard->Minor: draw whip.

[Martin, I can keep one marked consistently, and a second inconsistently; you?  Any preferences in how we divide them up?]

[I can mark one or two targets at-will for the entire encounter/until I reuse that marking power, and I have a defender aura, which effectively marks any unmarked target adjacent to me. Also have a few temporary marks. We should probably just wait and see how things look when our first turns come up.]
56
[So, purely out of curiosity...is the window in the Western wall large enough for a dwarf to jump through?]
57
[I'll put Fluffy at N8, Mari at M7.]
58
"We could tell from inside pretty easily," I point out. "We could also help. Which would be good. Let's do that."

I ride Fluffy over to where Oleg left his horse, and dismount.

[I'll wait and see if somebody's going to get the door for me, I think.]

59
"We should go and join him," l say. "Not much point in hanging around out here."
60
[Initiative: 4 + 9 = 13]
61
"OK," l say as we get underway, "so we have a goat now. That's...good, l guess?"
62
"No, little goat," l say. "Go home. Where we are going is not safe for little goats."
63
"What target?" I ask, confused.

"'Target' is Pepper-speak for 'thing which is still alive'", I explain. "Hadn't you noticed?"
64
"Two too many!" Theda says, and Mistress Sattler chides her, "Calm yourself.  We won't give them any excuse to misbehave, and hopefully they won't recall that we're in the middle of nowhere where they can do as they please."  She leaves her daughter - daughter-in-law? - to rejoin your party.  "Soup," she offers, pointing to the kettle.  "Can we offer you anything else?"

"No, I think that's all, thank you," I reply. "Please do let us know if there's any way we can repay your kindness."

65
"If we'd be putting you out at all, we'd be happy to move on," I say politely. "We don't want to impose."
66
"Pleased to meet you, Mistress Sattler," I reply. "We're a group of travellers with a long journey ahead of us, and my friends could use shelter for the night. In return, I could, uh...are there any light objects you need moved? I'm good at moving light objects."

[Diplomacy: 17 + 8 + 1 = 26]
67
"Hello!" I say, smiling at them. "Nice night, isn't it?"
68
"So, let's go say hi," I suggest. "After all, if they do mean us harm, there's one very easy way to find out, right?"

Without waiting for a response, I start Fluffy moving towards the farm at a gentle trot.
69
I spin to face the ghost, my eyes narrowed.  "You're gonna leave the people there alone," I say flatly, speaking directly to her for the first - only, if it's up to me - time.  "Anyone else we meet too.  You aint gonna... gonna make 'em think that maybe ghosts aint so bad after all, that maybe it's safe for 'em to mess with your kind.  I aint gonna let you get anyone killed, not when we're here or after we left, so just watch yourself."

"Yeah, we wouldn't want anyone thinking, would we?" I retort dryly. "They might reach their own conclusions about things. Can't have that."
70
"And I'm an important spiritual artifact? I can work with that."

Not sure about the 'artifact' part, but hey, I've been called worse. "So, given my spiritual importance, I guess a certain degree of respect is in order. Maybe even reverence!"
71
"Good points." I raise my voice slightly to include the others. "Well? Anyone? Why would a bunch of well-armed people on clawfoots be travelling out here? I've a feeling we look to be exactly what we are, despite our mm lack of special jewelry. Mercenaries maybe?"

"Travelling circus?" I suggest. "No, mercenaries works for me."
72
"But he did protect your country," I point out. "By giving us the information we wanted. Would you be happier if he'd kept quiet?"

Wait, what was that she said? "Oh! We're in Karrnath? I know Karrnath! That's the one everybody hates, right? No, wait, that's Thrane..."
73
"Nobody roughed anybody up," I reply. "We talked to him, that's all. Hurting innocent people isn't my way either, kid."
74
"What are you talking about?" I say. "Who said anything about anyone dying?"
75
I shrug and follow.
