Crap, I forgot about themes! Oleg is themeless!
I love themes.  Give that man a theme.

Oh, borealis: in this setting, the "ir'" prefix to the general's surname designates him as a member of the nobility, by the way.

Thanks.

Er... do I need to bow as well as salute?

I have no idea!

I'd guess no, that he's a general in this context first and a lord second?

I miss Scareaxe. She didn't have to worry about etiquette. :D

ir'Dulinch is a canon character!  I read all the things, and retained at least, oh, four or five percent of them.

I have read only a few of the things and retain about the same percentage.  You're like an encyclopoedia to me.

Hilarious, yes.

So this crew expects undead intelligences to show up now and again.

What is this nonsense?  A McGuffin?!  Lazy DMing, I say.

Hah! I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop, McGuffin-wise.

Ugh, AND an escort mission?  Unoriginal, that.

Retrieve this magical item of unknown origin or purpose, but powerful enough to expend my own son, so something that's enough to overthrow the king, make me rich, or feel really good when I stick it up my arse.

If Astra could recognise an eladrin by sight, she's be questioning right now if this was the absolute best mission to bring one along for.  Just, y'know, silently.

The party composition adds a fair bit of extra dimension to the story, really.

All the tropes!

Valenae tells his compatriots that he's an elf with an eye condition.

I don't mind killing people, I just hate being told to kill specific people. Takes away my agency.
Buddy, you are in the wrong job.

Diogenes, can I put in a vote for you taking Turn Undead instead of Smite Undead?  :)

I just feel that a "Target: Each undead creature in the burst" power could turn out to be really special.

FYI:  Palitinate speaks with a forced Korth accent. She has practiced over the years but a native speaker would still pick up on the difference. There is still a rural lilt to her pronunciation.
